Welcome to our blog. We are st
Philips class [Year 5] in st Catherine’s school, Littlehampton.
We are going to
be working with astronaut Tim Peake on an experiment to see if seeds that have been in
space grow as well as seeds that have stayed on Earth. We will be given two
packets of rocket seeds and only one of the packets will have been in space but
we will not be aware which packet. We will have to plant all the seeds in a
specific way, measuring them regularly.
We will have to make 200 small labels
out of clean milk bottles using a guide. We will plant them on either Tuesday
the 19th or Wednesday the 20th of April 2016.
The seeds
will have to be planted and stay inside because some animals could come and
destroy them and the rain could ruin them.
The seeds have been up in space for
6 months and were brought down by Astronaut Scott Kelly on March the 1st. We will be updating this blog throughout the experiment.
Stay tuned for more updates!
